Call me “Cyn”

Short for Cynical (or, ya know, CynicalBusiness)

I am a professional software engineer by trade but enjoy spending my free time making things, both with code and in writing.

Very often, I find myself wanting to share what I've learned, even just for the sake of it, so contained within the confines of this silly website are my thoughts and ramblings on all sorts of topics. For the most part, though, dear user, you will find details on my personal projects as well as my more finished written works to be perused at your leisure.

Who are you?

The Who, the What, the Whe- actually no, just those first two.

By trade, I work as a full-stack web developer primarily in NodeJS & React with a history in C# ASP.NET as well. In the past, I have also worked in game development professionally with Unity as well as some work with Lua in Roblox.

My free time as of late, though, when it's not consumed by playing games, is trying to make them. I have spent a great deal of time becoming very familiar with .NET Core and the Godot Engine in an attempt to create new and exciting projects.

Don't reinvent the wheel, but the tires... now those could be improved.

To be quite honest, I have a habit of using things in ways they were really not intended to be used with a desire to just see what would happen or what is possible. Very often it leads to (catastrophic) failure, but sometimes some gems show themselves and I think those bits are worth sharing.

What's this "tales" thing?

Far off in the distance, a wolf-like howl gently wades through the persistent drone of crickets and cicadas.

Among the things I like building is worldbuilding, and so, I spend some of my time writing "tales" from these worlds in hopes to create them through story. My writing is likely amateur compared to most, but practice makes perfect and it's really just for fun, but if you've got some feedback, I would be happy to hear it!
